Igor Munk is a bright representative of Russian school of fine art. He was born in Ukraine in 1954, graduated from Art College in 1976 and Kharkov Institute of Art and Design in 1992.
His landscape or still life is usually more then this. It is a kind of collage in which behind the almost physical perceptibility of what is depicted, there is always a background, an underlying theme making paintings deeper in meaning.
Life-asserting vividness of colors is typical for these works and it allows us to associate him with so called Russian impressionism of Levitan, Korovin, etc. Another direction of his creative work is philosophical, symbolic paintings performed in a restrained manner.
The artist’s works are in the Museum of Natural History in Jerusalem, and private collections in the USA, Canada, Israel, Poland, and Ukraine.

Since 2005 exclusively represented by Trevor Allan Gallery, Toronto, Canada.
Since 2002 exclusively represented on the West Coast by Kurbatoff Art Gallery, Vancouver BC.
2003 Four Artists Show, Sidney and Gertrude Zack Gallery, Vancouver BC.
